Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Rudy pursued higher education at the University of Arizona, where he graduated in 1992 with a degree in Classics. His academic journey continued at Stephen F. Austin University, where he received his Certified Public Management certification in 2021. Before his tenure in Santa Fe, Rudy spent eight years in Dayton, Texas, where he served as Assistant City Manager and Finance Director. His career spans 33 years, with significant experience in both public and private sectors, including 15 years in local government.
Rudy’s personal life is as fulfilling as his professional one. He resides in Baytown, Texas, with his spouse of almost 17 years and their eight beloved “fur” babies. In his leisure time, Rudy indulges in his passions for books, cats, the sciences, and a dash of karaoke. He embodies a well-rounded and intellectually curious individual dedicated to both his community and personal interests.
