Municipal Court
The Municipal Court serves as the judicial branch of the City, providing a fair, efficient, and accessible forum for the resolution of Class C misdemeanor cases arising under state law and city ordinances. The Court is committed to upholding the principles of justice while treating every individual with dignity, respect, and courtesy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hearing cases involving traffic citations, city ordinance violations, and other Class C misdemeanors.
- Processing fines, fees, and court costs in accordance with state law.
- Conducting trials, hearings, and arraignments as required by law.
- Maintaining accurate records of all proceedings and dispositions.
- Providing information to the public regarding court procedures and options for resolving citations.
